As little kids, we both liked to look through our parents photo albums from the days of their youth. We laughed at their hairstyles and pondered their clothes that looked like something out of a retro movie.
One of the memories that has stayed with us most vividly is the distinctive scent of traditional photo albums — the gentle aroma of paper and leather covers that seemed to carry the past within them. Opening an album always felt like opening a small treasure chest of family history.
How MADELAVI Was Born
We especially remember the quiet family evenings when a heavy photo album rested across our laps. Sitting beside our grandparents, we could spend hours turning the pages together, slowly discovering the faces and stories of relatives from another time. We would repeat their names, listen to the stories behind every photograph, and laugh at moments long before our own childhood.
In those simple evenings, we learned that a photo album is more than just a place to store pictures — it is a bridge between generations, keeping memories alive and allowing them to be shared again and again.
Looking at photographs has always been a fascinating activity and we 100% think physical photographs deserve a special place to store them in.

It all started when we were looking for the perfect photo album to capture our cherished life moments. When we couldn’t find what we envisioned, we decided to create our own. That’s how the MADELAVI brand came to life.
And now we can say that we have created what we were looking for. It has been a really exciting process to choose between the many possible raw materials and to get to know amazing and creative personalities.
